Read&Write for Google Chrome:

  • Co:Writer Prediction

Read&Write for Google Chrome has now integrated Co:Writer Prediction. The feature includes a simple-to-use word prediction engine specifically designed to free up ideas so they more naturally flow into writing—helping overcome writer’s block, word recall issues, and other barriers to writing. This update also includes a few new Prediction settings, and an option to fall back to Read&Write prediction.

  • Topics

The new Topics feature helps users manage complex or industry-specific vocabulary by grouping words into content areas that can be manually activated or deactivated. With over 500 Topic Dictionaries, users can quickly access relevant words, improving writing speed and flow.

  • Toolbar modes

Read&Write for Google Chrome also has a new toolbar update. It toolbar update supports diverse learning preferences with three modes: Horizontal, Vertical, and Writing Mode. The Horizontal Mode offers a familiar Read&Write layout at the top of the screen, fully customizable. Vertical Mode mimics Snap&Read’s vertical layout, docked on the right side and customizable with Read&Write icons. Writing Mode replicates the Co:Writer experience, ideal for users who need focused writing support without extra features.

  • Text-to-speech 
    Our team of developers have been working hard to enhance the text-to-speech features across the DSA product portfolio. 
  • AutoCorrect 
    AutoCorrect is a powerful new add-on to your new Read&Write and ClaroRead licences. AutoCorrect offers automatic spelling correction as students type. It also gives discreet support in any platform, helping students produce error-free work without disrupting their writing flow. 
  • Meet new voices 
    Students can now experience a more human-like touch with our latest additions to our in-product voices. We have invested in new Amazon Polly Neural voices. All new Read&Write and ClaroRead licences will offer these more human-sounding voices, creating engagement and a relatable user experience. We're thrilled to announce the addition of Welsh and Scots Gaelic voices, recognising the diversity in our user base. This means students can now listen to content in voices that resonate with their unique linguistic characteristics, promoting inclusivity and enhancing satisfaction.
  • Mobile offerings 
    Our latest mobile offerings mean that students can now, more than ever, stay in sync with their dynamic university lifestyle. ClaroRead and Read&Write now provide access to essential product features on the move. Promoting an even more flexible approach to learning than ever before.
